**The Opportunity**
The primary responsibility of the Pre-Sales Consultant is to be able to understand the customer requirements, the underlying business, and industry drivers and Gentrack’s products. The Presales consultant will then use this knowledge to work with the sales team to develop a compelling and winning technical and commercial proposition.
The Pre-Sales Consultant ideally should be seen as trusted advisor and participate with the client in technical presentations, commercial discussions and be able to support business case preparation. This frequently requires dealing with multiple areas of a customer’s business and stakeholders involved in the decision-making process.
The role requires working closely with product management, industry consulting, marketing and wider teams within Gentrack to act as the voice of the customer providing thought leadership about product requirements, market trends and ideas to help them innovate and stay ahead of where the market is going.
**Role Specifics**
- Actively participates in meetings with potential or existing customers to determine technical and business requirements/challenges and compelling reasons for change.
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Industry Consulting Marketing and Technology teams to create a comprehensive solution that delivers real value to potential or existing customers.
- Manage the input from multiple teams to build winning propositions, draft and produce industry-leading proposals.
- Understand, translate and map clients functional or business requirements to the proposed solution and help customer evaluate the benefit.
- Bid Management influence internal team members to produce quality inputs to deadlines.
- Able to lead and influence cross functional teams to develop solutions and commercial approaches.
- Collect and collate costs and build pricing models
- Build simple business case and TCO model
- Ability to align a solution to specific sales drivers
- Proactively engaging in the sales cycles and assisting in the execution of specific sales strategies.
**What you'll have**:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- At least 5 years working for an enterprise level software solutions vendor
- Utility market evolution and billing systems
- Electricity or water retail call centre or BPO centre operations experience
- CX Transformation and/or IT Consulting
- Previous Pre-Sales experience
- Experience in Value-Based Selling
- Knowledge of the software sales cycle
- A business understanding of CRM, digital, billing and credit
This role is in the detail, end-to-end and hands on. You’ll need to be a self-starter with knowledge, ideas, and the ability to inspire others.
