**Duties**: This position is Outside the bargaining unit. For the Supervisory Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner (District Director) GS-0991-15: - The incumbent actively contributes to and supports a comprehensive and integrated program to ensure effective implementation of benefits under the compensation provisions of the DMCWC program. - Provides leadership, oversight, and direction throughout the District Office to adapt and pilot new and improved business processes, methods of workflow, case management, quality control, and information technology improvements. - Directs all activities that relate to receiving, reviewing, developing, and adjudicating claims under the Federal Coal Mine and Safety Act of 1969 (FCMSA) that fall within his /her areas of jurisdiction. - Serves as an authorized approving officer, with full responsibility, for the certification of all benefit payments in DCMWC cases and for the recovery of money paid when in cases of fraud. Supervisory Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner (District Director) GS-0991-14: "_The incumbent works under closer supervision while continuing to exercise supervisory and managerial authority assigned for the position.
