o 5+ years of partner/business development, enterprise sales, and/or program/product management experience with a focus on public sector
- 5+ years of experience managing external customer/partner relationships
- 5+ years of experience with technology platform sales with an understanding of government IT, data centers, and cloud adoption.
- Prior experience supporting partners or customers in India
- Familiarity and experience supporting Public Sector sales, business development, procurement, or contracting in APJ markets.
- Fluent language skills required (both written and verbal) in English

Key job responsibilities
As a Partner Development Manager on the Worldwide Public Sector team, you will have the exciting opportunity to develop our community of partners in the Asia-Pacific region and accelerate AWS adoption by Government, Education, and Non-Profit customers. In this role, you will establish deep relationships within a set of AWS partners and will lead them through a customized partner development plan, across a diverse set of developmental milestones.
As a shared services team, we work with Public Sector Partner Account Managers in leading qualified, nominated AWS Partners through a discrete set of Partner, Technical, & Business Development milestones. Our PDM’s typically work with between 15 and 25 partners, with most engagements lasting between 6-12 months.
A day in the life
- Gain executive buy-in from strategic partners to accelerate their AWS technical and sales capabilities.
- Execute partner capability assessment to determine strengths and gaps in current AWS practice.
- Develop comprehensive partner development plans and execute on metrics driven milestones.
- Present the AWS & APN value prop to position benefits of an AWS focused technology practice.
- Manage numerous partner requests and time demands concurrently, while exceeding quarterly partner development goals.
- Earn trust with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate partner success.
- Understand and navigate public sector contracting vehicles and customer procurement.
- Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector.
- Execute the strategic sales and business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc).
- Evangelize partner capabilities across internal sales and business development teams.
- Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
- Manage complex contract executions and liaison with the AWS legal teams.
- Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to collaborate to solve complex business challenges.
- Experience using data visualization and analytics tools to make data driven decisions
- Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector.
- Excellent writing skills. The ability to author original text including detailed account plans and strategy planning documents.
- Experience working with Distribution channel
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead executive level meetings understanding the audience and the ability to conduct Executive Briefing type activities.
- Experience developing an indirect sales channel, growing partner competencies, and delivering sell to and sell-through revenue.
- Ability to drive strategic technology discussions at multiple levels with partners and customers.
