Accountant

**About the job**

To supervise the team in Finance & Accounting department (Singapore), the main responsibility is to ensure the smooth operations of the department. To work closely with the Group Accountant/Accounts Manager to ensure compliance with the company's finance and accounting policies and procedures, as well as statutory requirements. Additionally, to assist in the continuous improvement of process flow, financial system implementation, and internal controls.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Manage the Company’s finance and accounting matters including but not limiting to preparing and finalising the monthly and yearly accounts of the company’s subsidiaries
- Review the regular payments to creditors, ensure compliance with the company policy on payment terms and documentation before submit to Group Accountant / Accounts Manager and Director for approval
- Monitor and control debtor aging listing and ensure timely payment on outstanding accounts receivables
- Review all invoices, receipts and payment before closing of monthly accounts, ensure completeness and accuracy of the data entries in the accounting system
- Responsible for inventory closing, reconciliation and fixed asset management
- Check and post the transactions entered by junior accounting staff
- Check the trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss statement and supporting schedules required for monthly reports
- Assist in analysing monthly management account and report on the variance to Group Accountant / Accounts Manager
- Assist Group Accountant / Accounts Manager in preparing monthly commentary and power point presentation
- Prepare monthly stock reconciliation for warehouse and jobsite accessories
- Prepare and manage cash flow forecast
- Prepare GST computation and return
- In charge of mid-year and year-end stock take and fixed asset sighting
- To liaise with auditor on external audit matters and handle the audit field works
- Assist Group Accountant / Accounts Manager in compliance with all tax matters, including timely submission of GST and tax fillings
- In charge of mid-year and year-end stock take and fixed asset count
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Group Accountant / Accounts Manager and Senior Management

**Authority Level**
- Review and sign tax invoices in the absence of Group Accountant / Accounts Manager
- Check and review payment to creditors
- Check monthly or urgent GIRO / FAST / TT payment in online banking platform
- Assist the Group Accountant / Accounts Manager in preparing the information for tax filings and GST filing
- Assist the Group Accountant / Accounts Manager in monitoring the bank balances and prepare payment to the creditors
- Discuss accounting matters with external auditors

Random check on wages (workers) payment

**Requirement**:
Technical Skills
- Degree level with minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting
- Knowledge of and interpretation of government legislation on tax and accounting matters

Soft Skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Independent and proactive
- Responsible person and demonstrate a strong commitment to deadlines
