JOB TITLE: Country SHE & Security Manager
LOCATION: Singapore
MAIN JOB PURPOSE
Unilever’s Country Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager is responsible for managing all compliance and improvement activities in SHE & Security to achieve excellence at sites in the country. As Country SHE Manager, s/he is responsible in ensuring Unilever’s Framework Standards (FWS) compliance in the country, managing the SHE Positive Assurance Reporting (PAR) process and coordinating/conducting SHE audits. S/he is responsible for implementing the Unilever’s SHE strategy and improvement plans and supports the Cluster SHE Director in the deployment of Group SHE to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing incidents, injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. S/he works with Country and Site leaders to ensure compliance with the standards is maintained.
As the Country Security Officer (CSO), s/he liaises to the Cluster Security Director for the in-country security function. S/heis responsible for implementing proactive and reactive security control measures that support the business needs, to align security implementation with Group Security standards and procedures, and are to ensure local measures are commensurate to risk and opportunity. S/he works with the business to assess levels of risk and opportunity, identify and coordinate resources needed to support the security plan, utilising in-house and external expertise. S/he produces a country security plan to coordinate activities across the security pillars (Physical Security, Personal Security, and the Security Network (Training and Awareness)).
S/he is responsible to ensure implementation and manage programs and systems designed to protect employees and assets, ensure security risks are identified and managed at the appropriate level and will monitor and review existing practice to ensure it remains relevant and value adding. S/he is responsible to ensure security awareness programmes are in place and that third-party providers are properly trained and aligned with Unilever ways of working. The work will cover Protecting People, Protecting Assets, Conducting Investigations, Intelligence Issues and Program Management. The responsibility encompasses all aspects of the company’s business including third-party entities in relation to its people, the public, brands, assets and reputation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
SHE:
- Responsible for the deployment of the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and standards in the country to achieve excellent sustainable results.
- Monitor sites legal compliance and ensure they meet all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements and implement relevant procedures and policies.
- Manage and maintain all SHE Policies, Procedure, Plan and Management System and ensure its implementation is effective and in compliance with Global Directives, Legal and Other requirements (i.e. ISO 45001 & 14001 standards). incl. interpretation of related local legislation & other requirements.
- Facilitate in and ensure the completion of safety and environment risk assessments in the non-manufacturing sites and in developing/implementing appropriate controls
- Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management.
- Develop an understanding of the Unilever Behavioural Safety Program (BeSafE) program and support deployment in the site
- Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill health
- Assist the Country Lead in developing and managing the internal crisis committees and safety committee; support site leaders in the country/cluster in incident investigation and analysis
- Advise line management in all accident/incident investigations.
- Assist the Country & Site Leaders in ensuring compliance with safe travel training and reporting requirements
- Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses and safe behaviour observations and deep compliance audits.
- Develop and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as required.
- Determine training needs and facilitate in delivery of SHE training programs to build capabilities in the country.
- Raise standards and build capabilities in our external partners for SHE (e.g. distributors, 3PMs, and 3PLs).
- Participate in the community of practice of SHE professionals to ensure sharing of best practice and effective communication to and from Group.
- Reduce the sites' environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx & CO2 emissions and water & energy consumption
