Our team mission is to build & maintain the Database System Infrastructure Architecture, Linux OS, Compute and its configuration. The team is also tasked with supporting system availability & building the system in the cloud demonstrating cloud native solutions and multi-substrate technologies in a consistent way that implement immutability for stateful systems, and supports measuring the availability and dynamic scalability for capacity needs.

**Role**
**Salesforce is looking for an expert and motivated Senior/Lead System Performance Engineer to be part of the platform infrastructure team in the next chapter of System Design, Architecture and Orchestration. We are looking for an engineer with deep knowledge of Linux, Database, Systems and Cloud native technologies. This person should also be familiar with implementing and leading systems and microservices in the cloud at scale. Should have the ability to proactively identify new complex problem spaces and aim to innovate to solve them. **We need someone who can work multi-functionally and have a strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and positive action.**:
**Required Qualifications**:

- 6+ years of experience as a proven Senior Or Lead System Performance Engineer in 24x7 Production environments.
- Analyzing the system’s capacity and looking for ways to make improvements.
- Demonstrated the ability in Performance Engineering and Benchmarking.
- Skilled in the art and science of benchmark creation and measurement and modeling Linux system behavior under load.
- Lead Sophisticated Production Linux System Performance issues in production with the OS Vendors and championed pointing out the actual problem and getting the RCA.
- Ability to find the root cause of performance bottlenecks with profiling tools like flamegraphs, pprof, pstack, qmlprofiler, perf.
- Define, design and implement system performance/scalability benchmarks on DB & Application servers.
- Passionate about finding software performance bottlenecks and optimizing product code.
- Experience with systems and network performance and availability monitoring and analysis and configuration management platforms (Pagerduty, Grafana, Nagios/Prometheus, Puppet, Splunk) is highly desired.
- Experience in scripting languages Java, Python, Perl & Puppet.
- Expert in distributed computing systems and stacks.
- Comfortable with Linux, Docker, AWS, GIT, and Artifactory in terms of both tools and systems administration
- Implementing various system performance improvement plans.
- Familiarity with database (Oracle, MySQL, or similar technologies) and DB Cluster (RAC) technologies.
- Recommending and evaluating the impact of introducing new systems into the environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and positive action.
- Experience in System performance Tools Load runner, Dynatrace, KTF, dtrace, iperf & vdbench.
- Experience in Systems & Applications automation in 24x7 Production Services environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
