Singapore - Fleet – Head - Technical / Full Time Job purpose To lead the technical operations of the company's managed fleet, ensuring the highest standards in vessel maintenance, safety compliance, dry docking, and cost-effective performance, while adhering to international maritime rules & regulations, flag and classification society requirements. Main tasks and responsibilities Oversee all technical operations of the managed fleet, including preventive maintenance, dry docking, repairs, and condition assessments. Ensure full compliance with international maritime rules & regulations, flag state regulations, and classification society requirements; and Safety Management System (SMS). Manage a team of technical superintendents and support staff, providing leadership and continuous development. Monitor the vessels performance, shipboard maintenance and repair programs, dry docking, deficiencies, class and flag surveys and ensure that these are completed within the required time. Drive technical budget planning and control, including CAPEX/OPEX management and cost optimization. Coordinate the preparation and participate to the review and approval of the dry-docking specifications and any other major repair works prior to tendering. Supervise newbuilding and retrofit projects as required. Liaise with shipowners, charterers, classification societies, and port state control on technical matters. Ensure timely technical audits, inspections, and certifications. Lead emergency response efforts related to technical incidents or failures, assist in any emergency response as required. Oversee procurement for critical spare parts and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Maintain vessel performance monitoring systems (e.g., fuel efficiency, emissions control, condition-based monitoring). Prepare and review fleet performance reports for senior management and clients. Support the crew on board for their duties. Coordinate with Line management to meet operational requirements. Ensure communication of information and feed backs to other fleets and departments. Any other duties assigned by the senior management. Qualifications & Experience requirements Chief Engineer license with sailing experience on ocean-going vessels, preferably in a senior capacity onboard containership. Minimum 15 years in technical management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in ship management. In-depth knowledge of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and other maritime conventions. Experience with both planned maintenance systems and fleet management software. Strong budget management and negotiation skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities, Management skills. Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Desired Certifications or Experience – e.g., Chief Engineer CoC, experience with ISM/ISPS/MLC audits, etc. Preferred Skills Experience with digital fleet performance monitoring systems. Familiarity with energy efficiency and decarbonization initiatives (e.g., EEXI, CII). Exposure to newbuild supervision or conversion projects. #J-18808-Ljbffr
