JOB TITLE: Personal Care BG Channel Portfolio Development Manager (Oral Care + D&E Markets)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB & BUSINESS CONTEXT

The evolving dynamics of consumer preferences & customer business models are demanding a step change in Unilever’s approach to brand & portfolio development. Our current marketing operational models are being challenged, posing a heightened competitive risk for change as the industry increases their efforts towards tailored strategies by channel & customers.

To win big, this exciting position will play an important role in the delivery of our Personal Care ambitions by supporting the maintenance and development of a core portfolio that is premium, profitable, positive, and personal, for us and our top customers, with targeted efforts on the channels and customers promising the most growth.

Crucially, this position will provide strategic channel-category guidance, own agile innovation sprints, and conduct analyses on multi-source data to derive insight, ultimately providing a channel perspective within the operational realities of the Business Group Marketing environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Build a 3-yr PC Portfolio based on a channel / customer led innovation roadmap (D4C / D4R)
- Build PC portfolio (Horizon 2 and 3) to deliver against PC Via D4C/D4R squads:

- Channel shift strategy
- Top customer growth strategy
- Premiumization ambition
- Develop ongoing, data-driven insights to support the design-for-channel operational framework and establish an annual cycle of design sprints, including design-for-eCommerce.
- Conduct high quality analyses by using external and internal capabilities like Net revenue Management (levers 1 & 2), Turing, search trends, and Innoflex to inform portfolio growth strategies across PC.

CD Leadership for Innovation - Investor Boards
- Building all Channel / Customer / Shopper feedback and input in innovation projects
- Ensuring Innovation project teams have clear input on:

- lead country customer timelines, impact of delay on in year funnel delivery
- channel / customer strategy + key shopper insights
- category value drivers
- channel / customer pack requirements,
- Develop Trade story, commercial proposition and BET for innovations

Long Term Strategic Customer Portfolio Planning
- ‘How to win’ with Unilever through end-to-end joint value creation supporting ‘Partners For Growth’ workstreams in partnership with BG Commercial Strategy Lead.

Brand Health In Channels & Customers
- Measure innovation and portfolio in-year market delivery by customer and channels
- Build back learnings from innovation in-year delivery into next year innovation funnel and plan, underlining the risk assumptions by channel and customer

Premiumization & Pricing
- Partner with GBLs, providing them with NRM L1 and 4 box analysis to build guidance on recommended SPI
- Monitor recommended Brand SPI performance in PCMLT vs in market API
- Understand and analyse channel premiumization trends and patterns and equip GBLs and BU marketing heads with funnel premiumization plans

Capability Building
- Lead the development of CD input and requirements in Innoflex with central Innoflex team
- Land Innoflex and innovation management capabilities in BU CSP
- Build Channel and Customer profitability roadmaps based on innovation funnel sufficiency and quality
- Support the development of channel-specific portfolio capabilities that address future business models to maximize Unilever + customer profitability and consumer value creation.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- Transferring strategy into execution; has experience in Customer Development, Trade Marketing, and/or Marketing, with proven proficiency at utilizing shopping fundamentals, category management concepts, channel processes/tools & category growth strategies.
- Driving innovation; executing category growth strategies via the launch of innovation through the successful navigation of innovation project teams and investor board engagement
- Data storytelling; owning analyses leveraging various forms of data, and providing actionable recommendations presented to cross-functional teams.
- Business case development: clearly defining commercial opportunities with an acute awareness of P&L impact, through the delivery of customer/channel inputs into business case development, including market execution considerations & sell-in narratives
- Strong Commercial Acumen; robust understanding of retailer & brand P&Ls.
- Growth Mindset; a formulaic thinker with an ability to identify impactful priorities while managing multiple categories, stakeholders, and projects.
