**What is in it for you?**
The centralized Global Mobility function supports all international assignments and transfers for Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter and MMC Corporate. The Global Mobility Counsellor’s primary role is interfacing with the assignee and supporting assignment or transfer administration and vendor coordination. This position will be a key contact for internal clients requiring Global Mobility support and for colleagues and families during international assignments or transfers.
**We will count on you to**:
- Provide expertise on Global Mobility policies and program to HR Business Partners.
- Counsel HR Business Partners as well as Business Leaders on selection of the appropriate Global Mobility policy.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to HR and the business on all aspects of the assignment including compensation, tax, and immigration issues.
- Manage the full international assignment life cycle for assignees as well as partnering with the Regional Global Mobility Senior Manager to manage high touch, “VIP’ services to all of the senior level assignees for APAC during all phases of the international assignment.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-assignment counseling including explanation of assignment compensation, relocation process, policy information, immigration, tax and health and retirement benefits.
- Primary contact for relocation vendor’s in delivering all aspects of the logístical relocation (shipping, destination services, cultural training) including interpretation of policies if necessary, approval of exception requests and review of any issue escalations from assignees.
- Coordinate the immigration process in partnership with a global immigration vendor
- Partner with the Regional Global Mobility Senior Manager on global team initiatives, global projects, development of processes, procedures and job tools; work to ensure consistency with global processes and procedures. Drive operational excellence initiatives for the region and address service and coordination issues for colleagues.
- Act as backup to the Regional Global Mobility Senior Manager with the internal counseling team as well as internal and external clients as required including senior level executives.
- Prepare cost projections and letter of assignment within the SLA timeframe on a consistent basis.
**What you need to have**:
- Strong academic background with BA/BS
- Preference will be shown to those who have worked within a Global Mobility unit before but training will be provided if you have related Immigration or Taxation experience
- Experience of working for a large MNC
- Knowledge of APAC Immigration preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Solid quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to service demanding clientele in a fast-paced environment and on a global scale
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills - strong customer service skills a must
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Cross cultural sensitivity required
- Knowledge of WorkDay and Equus’ AssignmentPro a plus
- GMS or GPHR certification a plus
