- The role within Chartering / Operations will have a key focus on improving profits by maximising Time/Voyage Charter earnings and improve voyage returns and reducing costs.
- The responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Reporting to the Managing Director and/or Teamleader Operations
- Liaising with the Vessels/Agents/Charterers/Owners/Shippers/ Receiver/Brokers/other external parties in order to employ the vessel.
- Monitor market trends
- Supporting the Chartering Department in negotiating Charter Parties with Charterers on behalf of the Vessels Owners
- Familiarisation with Charter Parties
- Daily monitoring of vessels positions/schedules
- Coordinate and support Operations team for time charter and voyage operations
- Voyage calculations including stowage optimizing (TC and VC)
- Support Operations Department in handling of Charter Party disputes in liaison with insurance/charterers to enable smooth settlement
- Prepare market and fixture reports for internal and/or external processing or publication
- Liaising with the vessels/agents/charterers/owners/Shippers/ Receiver/other external parties to ensure smooth operations.
- Issuing invoices and hire statements, handle laytime and demurrage
- Finalisation of voyages (TC and VC) including follow up
- Managing port calls including preparing port disbursement accounts
- Arranging bunker purchases for vessels in charge with traders/suppliers worldwide
- Coordination of hold/hull cleaning procedure with technical departments and Master
