Job summary

The creation of the Value Engineering/Value Management role is a systematic, organized approach to maximizing value for each dollar spent. High level this will be done by analyzing the essential requirements of fit-out projects vs key business requirements to achieve the lowest total cost (capital, operating, and maintenance) over the life of the project. This role should not be confused with procurement, VE/VM happens upstream of procurement.

Key job responsibilities
- Drive the recording of value creation
- Assess projects to identify non adding value costs/features (day1 and POP)
- Perform site visits to review errors (past), and promote better on site-decision-making, selection (future)
- Review, control and approve design recommendations in line with the frugality
- Recommend workplace guidelines modifications to eliminate unnecessary or costly features without affecting the customers’ experience on site
- Help develop new frugal and scalable guidelines
- Review all architects detailed proposals before implementation to drive consistency and validate instructions
- Develop local sourcing options to reduce costs and timelines
- Recommend WD&C process modifications to enhance the VE contribution
- Drive the outsourced teams to adopt different working methodology to be more efficient and costs optimized
- Participate in tools review and adoption to facilitate the VE role
- Work hand in hand with procurement to review and affect sourcing decisions
- Partner with procurement in selecting contractors/sub-contractors within the RFP process

A day in the life
- Collaborates with regional D&C delivery manager’s to understand the Rhythm of Business (ROB)
- Identify and execute initiatives that optimize the function
- Provides Senior Manager with visibility into key data and themes to demonstrate trends, best practices, and risks within the function
- Determines the operational framework for the function, to include ROB, engagement models, and approach to hiring/ onboarding new yellow badge resources
