Alta, formerly known as Fundnel, is Southeast Asia’s largest digital marketplace for alternative investments. Alta gives investors direct access to invest and trade in a wide range of curated alternative assets, from direct investment into early to late-stage private companies, PE/VC funds, asset-backed securities of luxury assets, real estate and more. ‍

As a licensed integrated marketplace, Alta brings the trading and distribution of securities, fund management, and payments solutions under one roof. Through its blockchain-powered exchange, Alta is also able to support tokenization, digital custody, and trading of alternative assets. ‍

Today, while more investors are looking to increase their allocation to alternative assets, the high costs of investing and illiquidity of private markets can often give many investors pause. Alta makes it easier and more efficient than ever for investors to trade tokenized alternative assets at smaller, fractionalized blocks, thereby enhancing liquidity in the private markets, and bringing alternative assets to all. ‍

Since 2016, Alta has completed over 1,000 transactions valued in excess of US$600 million and has created access for investors to invest in over US$22 billion worth of mandated opportunities globally. ‍

We are seeking a strong technically-minded people leader to join our team as **Head of Engineering, **supporting our rapidly growing product engineering teams. Working closely with our CTO, this role is focused on continually developing our team as they continually develop our product. Creating and implementing our best practices, ensuring each member of the team is progressing to their full potential, being an insightful voice in technical solutioning discussions, and working closely with product and senior leadership to map business strategy to tech ops are all key parts of this role. In other words, it’s a key role with immense opportunity to continue to build on technical leadership skills in terms of both breadth and depth at a rapidly growing fintech.

This is a unique opportunity at a key foundational stage of our product development. We are ambitiously building an end-to-end ecosystem for private markets, with three different product teams focused on our digital exchange, our backend services, and our front-end platforms respectively. Each team is cross-functional, autonomous and deeply collaborative as we try whenever possible to remove the traditional functional silos of product teams. Our tech stack is highly varied and constantly evolving, but is currently made up largely of Node (Nest JS), React/React Native, NextJS, MySQL, AWS (via Terraform) and EVM-based web3 integrations. We are largely serverless and are continually improving our CI/CD best practices to maximise our release frequency while minimsing our operational risk.

**The sorts of things you’ll be doing**:

- Taking on people management responsibilities across a large portion of our growing 15+ strong dev/QA team working across three offices (Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam)
- Working with key stakeholders including the CTO and Director of Product, collaboratively setting org-wide best practices and ensuring teams have the strategies and support required to execute and maintain them
- Setting professional development paths for various roles, and ensuring our approach to feedback and assessment is continually improving to best support every team member
- Take a strong leading role in the ongoing development of our resourcing and hiring strategy across dev/QA/architecture/DevOps functions
- Collaborate directly with the CTO and other department heads to ensure the tech team’s operations and strategic goals align with those of the business, and are resilient to quick changes based on market conditions
- Stay in tune with our regulatory responsibilities and help to ensure that our team practices satisfy or exceed the guidelines set out by regulators in all of our operating markets
