[What the role is]

This is a 11-month contract position as a Network Engineer in the Computer Centre.

**[What you will be working on]**

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Manage cloud services, e.g. implement and administer of cloud solutions for major services related to compute and network.
- Configure firewall rules, routing, DNS entries, cloud PaaS, Network Address Translation gateway, WAF, Network and Application Security Group.
- Work in a mixed Windows and Unix environment and manage the instances of the cloud infrastructure services and the multiple cloud servers.
- Identify technical requirements and provide technical design specifications for projects and suggest recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
- Maintain system security procedures, e.g. remediation of vulnerabilities, patching, etc.
- Review and identify areas for improvements to optimize platforms and its services for system delivery, performance, scalability reliability and extensibility.
- Work on projects with stakeholders and peers to implement scalable solutions, improve systems and processes and c omply with standards, policies and procedures.
- Assist in the management of on-site network services, e.g. firewall and wireless network services, etc.

**[What we are looking for]**
- At least 2 years of working experience in cloud services with good knowledge of Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience in managing of next-generation firewall systems.
- Experience in building and implementing infrastructure-as-code (IAC) to provision and manage any cloud, infrastructure, or services in an automated way.
- Strong technical knowledge of virtual machines (in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS).
- Resilient, resourceful with good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant work experience and/or knowledge in Wireless Services, Data Centre technologies (e.g. Windows Server, SAN/NAS storage technologies, data backup strategies), cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft, RedHat, VMware and Hyper V Virtualisation environments,) would be advantageous.

Additional pre-requisites that are advantageous:

- Possess at least Azure Administrator Associate certification or higher.
- Terraform Associate level certificate is an added advantage.
