Medical Scientific Specialist

The MSS role family comprises a variety of medical scientific specialties, such as but not limited to, BU medical leads, partnerships lead, etc.
In all cases, the MSS is the medical scientific companies’ POC for HCPs, medical societies, regulators, academia and other ext. scientific stakeholders.
The MSS are responsible for maintaining the highest scientific standards, independence and compliance in every medical/scientific external activity, as well as in scope internal processes
The Medical Scientific Specialist is responsible for ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance in execution of medical to medical initiatives and stakeholder-centric engagement, in relation to medical activities.
The Medical Scientific Specialist supports the training and development of BU team including the development of external stakeholder strategy, execution of external medical to medical engagement according to business unit medical strategy, and alignment with business unit Medical Leads on implementation and delivery of medical projects.
The Medical Scientific Specialist is also responsible for quantifying medical impact and monitoring BU performance management to maximise the impact of medical activities.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead medical to medical communications
- Scientific expert for HCPs, med. Societies, academia, etc.
- Plans and executes medical scientific strategic plans, as per their specialty role
- Medical Stakeholders Management
- Provide medical input to the BUs and contributes to company’s plans through actionable customers’ medical insights
- Aligns, supports and contributes to different internal stakeholders.
- Is a key contributor to ensure company’s medical compliance
- External Medical and Scientific engagement strategy and implementation
- Support development of cross-BU medical strategy for external stakeholder engagement in alignment with individual business unit medical strategies
- Establish and strengthen medical and scientific relationship between BU team and external stakeholders
- Ensure effective data communication and medical insight capturing
- Collaborate with BU team on conduct of advisory boards; organization and delivery of relevant educational/training workshops/meetings; andparticipation in medical/scientific conferences.
- External Collaboration Projects:
- In collaboration with BU Medical Affairs, ensure timely and efficient communication to completerequired internal/external process including system administration, maintain good documentation, tracking in a timely manner.
- Pfizer-Sponsored Research:
- Ensure compliance of operational requirements
- BU Training and Development
- Capability development, building high performance medical team, enhancing sharing of best practice and cross-BU/cross-functional collaborations
- Ensure BU team capability (including scientific knowledge) related to medical execution, quality of operation and compliance
- Solicit and consolidate feedback from external and internal stakeholders in relation to team effectiveness, quantify and communicate the value and effectiveness of medical activities
- Develop, monitor and report KPIs in relation to medical activity
- Other Medical Affairs projects as defined by the BU Medical Leads
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Education in medicine (preferred) or a health science related discipline (pharmacy, psychology, biology); relevant specialty training desirable
- Industry, clinical, research or academic experience; with track record of publications preferred
- Knowledge of clinical research and clinical development processes desirable
- 2 years’ experience in medical affairs role
