**Purpose Statement**
The Asia Pacific field based “Medical Affairs Manager” is responsible for establishing, fostering, cultivating and maintaining credible and unbiased medical and scientific dialogue with multiple external entities (including but not limited external scientific and medical leaders, academic medical institutions, disease and patient societies and healthcare professional organizations), and communicating field medical intelligence/insights to internal stakeholders. The end goal is to act as the conduit for accurate, unbiased and updated clinical, scientific and medical information between the external scientific community in the assigned region and Boston Scientific. The MAM has an assigned territory autonomously managing, developing and growing medical activities/initiatives achieving key medical objectives.
**Roles & responsibilities**
- Support publication strategies across the Asia Pacific region. Work with Medical Communications, Clinical, R&D and Marketing to ensure rapid and appropriate publication of IDE, PMS and RWE study clinical data.
- Oversee Boston Scientific Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) projects in the Asia Pacific region Through collaboration across stakeholders, identify and prioritize the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) ideas associated with priority medical devices across Boston Scientific business divisions in APAC region.
- To support Investigator Sponsored Research programs and clinical research initiatives by discovering and championing innovative ideas, monitor the overall conduct of study deliverables.
- Teach the clinical evidence story linking the totality of evidence in a non-biased manner. Inform HCPs about clinical evidence and accurately communicate key evidence gaps.
- Execute on medical plans communicating technical and clinical data supporting new products or and/or new indications. Create a territory plan to identify early users that will provide meaningful clinical insights.
- Provide medical and scientific support for EEs speaking on Boston Scientific products at medical meetings and congresses.
- Investigate and gather field medical intelligence/insights that might affect therapy safety/efficacy, Clinical/R&D strategies and competitive activities. Create strategies to gain insights from a diverse set of stakeholders. Communicates knowledge in a simple, coherent and informative manner to internal stakeholders.
- Identify clinical insights and knowledge gaps and be able to articulate the impact and magnitude of the findings.
- Provides medical/scientific congress support communicating accurate information with timely follow up. Attends key sessions and communicates knowledge in a simple, coherent and informative manner to internal stakeholders. Develops and executes on KOL engagement plan at the congress.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of related experience within APAC in conducting clinical research programs in medical device or life science industry, with expertise in the field of Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology and Peripheral Interventions is advantageous.
- Graduate level life science ideally with a post-graduate qualification and/or PhD or equivalent work experience. MD will be an added benefit.
- Knowledge of applicable medical research and publication regulations (FDA, ICH-GCP, ICMJE, ISO standards etc)
- A seasoned, experienced professional with significant relevant medical affairs experience within an international matrix environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in verbal and written English
- Track record for creating, managing, and completing medical/scientific related projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across various regions within APAC and global HQ
