Manager, Strategic Merchants, Reg Mkt Dev

Based out of Singapore the role of Manager - Strategic Merchants Asia Pacific, Market Development offers the successful individual the opportunity to join a highly motivated, fast paced team who achieve results through positivity and collaboration. Responsible for driving sales preference for Mastercard across Asia Pacific, the position requires a proactive, commercially pragmatic account manager with strong relationship management and influencing skills. The ability to operate across multiple opportunities whilst acting with a sense of urgency is essential.

Role
- Demonstrate an understanding of the client’s global and regional strategy, the organizational structure and opportunity pipeline through the generation and management of account plans, QBR etc.
- Partner and manage cross functional teams including Data & Services, C&I, Product, Marketing to create incremental revenue opportunities based on identified needs. Coordinate fully with Market Dev teams across the globe to share learning and experiences and bring insights to the team.
- Leverage profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis
- Take the lead on day-to-day customer interactions including handling queries, preparing data and communicating messages. Own specific relationships; acting as first point of customer contact
- Understand customer needs to identify sales opportunities and actively build/manage an opportunity pipeline across everything Mastercard offers in consumer payments
- Prepare presentations for internal and external management. Ensure all reporting is prepared and delivered as required both internally and externally
- Support the Account Director and wider team as required, acting as delegate/cover as necessary

Skills Required
- Comprehensive experience creating, executing and managing accounts.
- Analytical skills - utilizing internal and external data to manage performance and support hypothesis
- Payment industry and/or issuing/merchant experience. A team player capable of coordinating resources across Mastercard’s matrix-based organization.
- Act with a sense of urgency to get things done, proactive, curious to learn, and eager to crack complex topics
- Have a demonstrated track record of success with high levels of energy and self-motivation. Good problem-solving skills.
- Be hands-on, execution-oriented, willing and able to drive progress of existing projects as well as planning the delivery of new activities
- Resilient, calm under pressure; organised and able to prioritise tasks appropriately
- Sense of humour; positive outlook; able to form rapport and good working relationships
