Overview:
The primary purpose of the Technical Sales Specialist position is generation of revenue with HuCAL custom monoclonal antibody related products, services and licenses. This routinely includes scientific project discussions, the negotiation and closing of service agreements to strengthen the market position of Bio-Rad and HuCAL at the same time as securing a mixture of short, mid and long
- term revenues.

**Responsibilities**:

- Acqusition of new customers in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and research markets by following up on leads / inquiries.
- Preparation of customer project description and financial quotations for submission to customer.
- Facilitation and organization of scientific discussions between customers and generation or production scientist.
- Maintaining and developing existing Customer contracts including maintenance of Customer contact data.
- Project management including providing input for order and invoice processing and customer support.
- Negotiation of service and License agreements with input of Technical Sales Manager, Legal and IP.
- Conducting Customer visits, sales campaigns and road shows together with field sales force members, attending exhibitions and shows, including making HuCAL Scientific and Sales presentations.
- Provision of sales forecasting and other relevant sales information for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
- Provision of details of market developments, customer need and success factors as well as ideas and suggestions for new product and service offerings to Technical Sales Manager - HuCAL Custom Antibodies and / or HuCAL marketing support as appropriate and as request.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, including experience in one or more of the following areas: genetic engineering (phage display), biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology and/ or immunology. Preferred education a Ph.D. in life sciences with similar experience is desirable.
- Experience in a sales or customer support function, ideally in the life sciences industry is desirable.
- Technical background in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology or a related field.

How will You make an impact?

This role is very much orientated around consultative selling. Listening to the customer and asking questions to ensure you fully understand their scientific need is probably the most important skill. Understanding our service in detail and capabilities and how that may address the customer need, then clearly communicating that to the customer is also vital. It typically takes 3-6 months to gain this level of understanding but you will be in a supportive environment both during your training and once established in the role. You will be the connection between the customer and the laboratory in Germany which will perform the service. Your technical competence and organizational ability is essential to convey the quality and professionalism of the serivce that operates out of our Munich site. A lot of our growth is based on our good reputation and customers moving companies and getting in touch from their new employment. Our customer centricity and responsiveness is important for upholding that reputation. You will be part of a relatively small division of Bio-Rad and as such you will get to know colleagues from R&D, marketing and operations as well as colleagues from the wider organization your local geography. Your ability to cooperate with, trust, share information and maintain good relations with your colleagues will help you achieve more than you can by yourself and give you a nice insight into the business. You will make good use of the customer-relationship-management and laboratory-information-management systems on which you will be trained so that the necessary information for forecasting, project planning etc is available to the necessary users.
