We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an **Assistant Vice President, Operations and Controls.**

**Principal Responsibilities**

The jobholder is a member of WPB Distribution - Branch Network and will report to SVP, Head of Operations. He/ she will work closely with the Branch Directors and Customer Service Managers to value add in the management of risk aspect through the daily branch operations

The jobholder is required to have a broad knowledge of branch operations and understands the risk elements in branch operations as well as strong stakeholder management skills.

Business & Sales Strategy
- As part of first line of defence, identify and mitigate potential areas of risk in Branch Network, items which may require escalation e.g.: RCA/MSII to aid in the strong governance of the WPB risk control
- Work with stakeholders in implementation of solutions for risk management
- Regular review potential risk areas in Branch Network through forums with stakeholders to mitigate operational risk
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Projects
- Participate in both Network / bank initiated projects
- Lead the ATM channels to ensure continuous service for customers

Client Focus / Stakeholders / Customer Experience
- Put forth recommendations to improve customer experience in processes, systems, operations and administration without compromising on business risk

Leadership & Teamwork
- Work with the wider teams to deliver the Branch Network WPB Performance measures and plan to support the multi channel client journey
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues in the wider WPB businesses
- Foster an environment of teamwork, ensuring collaboration throughout the organization and instil a multi channel culture across the network
- Uphold HSBC value behaviour at all times

Operational effectiveness
- Mitigate operational risk through regular review of resource distribution across locations to ensure a balanced allocation of staff resources
- Active involvement in the resource allocation for business expansion and development to achieve operational efficiency

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3- 5years proven and progressive branch operations with an international FI
- Strong communication, interpersonal communication skill, client centric and influencing skills
- Sound knowledge of branch operations
- Understands the risk components in branch network related issues
- A strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability
- Project Management experience will have an added advantage
