Job Summary:
The Accounts Officer is part of the operations team, responsible for the accounting and reporting of legal entities under IFRS. Responsible for monthly legal entity management reporting and analytics to ensure financial accountability and that all transactions are appropriately recorded on the statutory ledger, considering local legal and regulatory requirements. Works closely with property management executives/officers and managers to provide insights into the financial aspects of the legal entities as well as an advocate for internal controls and performance improvement. Requires great attention to detail, speed and accuracy, strong data handling and computer skills, and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle full sets of accounts from multiple projects and estates.
- Maintain and update accounts on the estate management system, through processing daily estate transactions and relevant adjustments.
- Prepare timely payments to vendors and follow up on outstanding debtors of the respective projects.
- Manage and maintain cash items, and provide accountability through meticulous recording.
- Prepare taxation items, and send tax reports to the tax authority.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports for relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.
- Update relevant stakeholders on any suspicious activity through in-business controls and compliance testing.
- Will be required to carry out other Admin duties.
Qualifications:
- LCCI / Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent.
- Those with professional qualification i.e ISCA/ACCA/CIMA and/or Degree in Accountancy may also apply.
- A friendly demeanour and ability to excel in a team oriented environment
- Strong proficiency with Google Apps Suite, BPM tools, Microsoft Office suite (especially Microsoft Excel)
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills (fluent in English is a must)
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt towards procedural changes, and multiple tools or software
- Desire and ability to work successfully in a small company environment
