What the role is

The CAAS’ Technology Office charts technology roadmap and executes strategies to strengthen Singapore’s competitive advantage as an international air hub. The team promotes translational research and innovation, and its scope of work covers all domains, as well as emerging themes, of aviation including air traffic management, smart and digital airports, sustainability and advanced air mobility.

What you will be working on
- As an Assistant Director/ Deputy Director, you are responsible for the success and delivery of the programmes that you lead. This means that you will lead the effort to scope innovation programmes (e.g., defining approaches and outcomes), foster partnerships between industry and academia critical for the success of the programmes, managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong alignment. You will also be required to oversee and manage administrative matters including programme/project budgeting, organising procurements and grant calls, project monitoring and reporting.
- You are also expected to lead and/or provide guidance to junior colleagues in the team.

What we are looking for
- Trained in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines
- Proven track record in a managerial role, preferably with at least 10 years of experience
- Ability to think strategically, and is driven and motivated to push boundaries
- Skilled in programme / project management and/or grant management strategies
- Experience and knowledge in frameworks and methodologies for translating R&D into operational capabilities will be an advantage
- Knowledge and experience in aviation operations, systems architecting and systems engineering will be an advantage
- Strong leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage, interact and negotiate at different levels
- Ability to build cohesive and high performing teams
- Prior experience or a strong Interest in aviation and /or public sector in-house counsel would be an advantage
