Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and build strong relationships with assigned donors by understanding their interests, motivations and philanthropic goals.
- Lead the messaging development, design and processes for effective and impactful donor communications.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the database of donor engagement and interactions.
- Upgrade and refer potential donors to major gift officers or legacy gift officers.
- Contribute to performance tracking and reporting.

**Qualifications**:

- Self-starter that enjoys calling donors, developing relationships, and soliciting donations. Comfort in “cold calling”.
- Proven track record of securing donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations in higher education or in philanthropy preferred. Alternatively, related experience in relationship management, sales or marketing ideal.
- Strong active listening skills and excellent interpersonal, presentation, and persuasive skills, both written and oral.
- Collaborative, driven and self-motivated with strong multi-tasking skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet or exceed established fundraising goals and metrics.
- A high degree of customer service orientation.
- An ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to donors’ information.
