Responsibilities
- Support operation of the teaching lab, including maintaining lab resources, such as materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities, ensuring their proper maintenance, organization, and availability for lab activities.
- Troubleshoot with improvement to experimental steps and facilitation of attainable results consistently.
- Understand and implementing process adaptions and formulations from University’s guidelines and SOPs into Teaching Lab’s operation.
- Module’s practical-in-charge in the plannning of lab experiments, demonstrations, and exercises that align with the curriculum, collaborating with instructors, preparing lab materials, setting up experiments, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.
- Coaching and guiding fellow team mates when needed on lab techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation, as well as managing tasks with prioritizations.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines, including maintaining a safe working environment, providing safety training to lab users, monitoring safety guidelines in conjunction with quarterly lab safety representative meeting with OHSE, and addressing any safety concerns or incidents.
- Responsible for the maintenance of lab equipment to ensure proper functioning, or coordinating with professional expertise for maintenance and service.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of lab activities, as well as effectively communicating lab protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines to students and other lab users.
- Preparation of budgets and managing expenditure for various modules and Outreach Programs.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Life Sciences or related fields.
- Familiar with usage of general lab equipment and lab planning with preparation work.
- Familiar with lab safety requirements and risks involved in lab operations.
- Familiar with mammalian, and bacterial cell cultures, molecular biological techniques (PCR, electrophoresis, proteins induction and purification, Western blot, ELISA, etc.), biochemical reactions (protein testing assays, carbohydrate and, lipid tests, etc.), immunohistochemistry, and histology (tissues, cells and organs), microscopy work, basic cytometry and preparations and mínimal animal work (Dissection and harvesting of organs).
- Basic or foundational knowledge with Microsoft 365 and other associated offline programs.
- 3 years’ experience in educational laboratory setting.
- Works independently, team player and inter-departmental collaborations.
- Manage and encourage team members and ensuring accountability.
- Willing to uptake new projects and handles well under pressure and mínimal supervision.
- Adapt and adopt changes with sharing of suggestions and solutions.
- Liaising with stakeholders; course coordinators and undergraduates
