VP, Relationship Manager- FDI Desk, Institutional Banking Group

DBS Institutional Banking Group ("IBG") provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. Sitting within the FDI desk in IBG, the role will be focused on identifying and supporting the banking needs of Korean corporate clients moving business into Singapore and ASEAN more generally. The FDI desk collaborates widely across the bank, both regionally within IBG but also with Private Banking ("PB") and Consumer Banking ("CB"), to address customer requirements quickly and effectively. The team also supports business development and origination of this type of business opportunity and manages customer relationships directly where needed.
Responsibilities
- Drive customer engagement and liaise with coverage teams to identify/originate business leads, covering Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia.
- Work closely with bank coverage teams including regional coverage teams in IBG, PB and CB to ensure customer banking requirements are met quickly and effectively
- Formulate, complete, and execute account plans for clients onboarded by FDI Desk to increase share of wallet by generating solutions and procuring support from product groups including capital markets (Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A), transaction banking services (Cash and Trade) and treasury, working closely in conjunction with product groups and colleagues in the region.
- Ability to identify cross-industry opportunities and drive synergies with existing clients of the bank.
- Where needed, handle customer relationship and banking needs directly in a timely manner and with due attention to business risks
- Degree holder in Finance, Economics or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in either institutional or private banking
- Prior experience in exposure and coverage in the specific markets will be advantageous
- Strong credit and financial analytical skills with the ability to independently prepare credit applications for approvals
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-oriented and strong business connections in identifying and developing business opportunities. Track record and experience in this aspect will be an advantage.
