As a Consultant (Molecular Pathologist), you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead and provide diagnostic and consultative services in the field of molecular pathology.

  • Involves in interpreting molecular diagnostic tests, guiding patient care through precision medicine, and collaborating with oncologists, hematologist, geneticists and laboratory scientists.

  • Working with the department's HOD and Head of Lab Sciences to advance laboratory operations.

  • Contribute to laboratory quality assurance, research initiatives and the development of molecular diagnostic services.

  • Act as a clinical and scientific lead in the design, validation, and implementation of new molecular assays relevant to oncology, rare diseases, and precision therapeutics.

  • Provide strategic guidance and medical leadership for the development of precision medicine services across multiple specialties.

  • Promote continuous quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and best practices in molecular pathology.

  • Mentor and educate junior staff, trainees, and laboratory scientists.

  • Contribute to translational research initiatives and foster academic partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Possess a basic Degree from a recognized medical school or Postgraduate (MBBS/MD) which is registrable with Singapore Medical Council.

  • Completed the training and post-graduate qualifications (RCPath/ FRCPA/ Molecular Genetic Pathology certification by American Board of Pathology or equivalent) which are recognized by the Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB).

  • At least a 5 years working experiences in a clinical laboratory.
