About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head the Molecular Diagnostic Centre (MDC). The role encompasses leadership in clinical, scientific, and operational domains, ensuring excellence in service delivery, quality standards, and compliance with accreditation requirements.

As a Consultant, you will report to the Chairman of the Medical Board and Head of Department, and operate in accordance with Ministry of Health (MOH) policies. Your role will span patient care, teaching, and research, contributing to the broader mission of the cluster.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee daily operations of the molecular diagnostics lab, including test interpretation and validation of new assays

  • Collaborate with the HOD and Head of Lab Sciences to drive the department's strategic direction

  • Innovate and expand diagnostic services to enhance MDC's capabilities

  • Ensure the highest standards of quality control and regulatory compliance

What we're looking for

  • Medical degree (MBBS/MD) from a recognized institution, registrable with the Singapore Medical Council

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g. RCPath, FRCPA, or Molecular Genetic Pathology certification by the American Board of Pathology), recognized by the Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB)

  • At least 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in molecular genetics and managing complex medical cases

  • Proven ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment with a strong track record in clinical care, education, and research

  • Proactive, confident, and collaborative professional with strong leadership qualities
