Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic candidate to join our Operations Department as a Guest Experience & Retail Assistant. In this role, you will serve as the ambassador for the Science Centre and its attractions, ensuring seamless and profitable frontline operations, including admission and ticketing procedures, guest and retail services, and exhibit operations.
Essential Job Functions:
As a Guest Experience & Retail Assistant, you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with team members, departments, and external partners, you will ensure a smooth and enjoyable visitor experience. Your contribution will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Your responsibilities will include providing frontline services such as admission, ticketing, guest assistance, and retail services using electronic sales systems. This involves offering guidance on products and services, facilitating exhibit interaction, and managing stock control and merchandise display. Additionally, you will handle sales proceeds, daily account closing, address guest inquiries, apply digital technology to enhance the visitor experience, enforce safety rules, and provide first-level service assistance and recovery. You will also be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, escalating incidents, and supporting emergency response procedures. Furthermore, you will guide interns/temporary staff, evaluate their performance, and oversee inventory, procurement, and sourcing/purchasing of supplies and equipment for the department's operations.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess good knowledge in Attractions, Retail Operations, or Tourism Services. Relevant working experience in related Attractions or Retail operations will be advantageous.
A strong service mindset and enjoyment in interacting with people are essential for this role. Candidates should have a cheerful disposition, be organized, and demonstrate meticulousness with numbers. Due to the operational nature of the work, flexibility in working schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, is required.
