  • Position : Purchasing Assistant (Freight Forwarding/ Shipping)
  • Location : Shenton Way
  • Working hours       : 5 Days/ 9am to 5.30pm for Monday to Friday
  • Salary (commensurate with experience : Up to $3,500 + Variable Bonus
  • Duration : Permanent
  • Industry : Shipping

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in obtaining, evaluating, and negotiating pricing with vendors.
  • Liaise with vendors, Superintendent/Fleet Manager, and General Manager to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • Make entries in the procurement system, issue Purchase Orders, and monitor ship's itinerary for timely supply.
  • Follow up with vendors on supply variations, invoice administration, and settlement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and Department Head.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least an O Level or a Diploma in Purchase Management.
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in Purchasing in Marine or Shipping.
  • Proficient in computer software and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
