Process Engineer

Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role involves analysing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance process performance. The Process Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure successful production outcomes.

Job Description:

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes or process improvements to optimize production operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate proposed process changes or investments in new equipment or technologies.
• Develop process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flowcharts, to ensure consistent execution of manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that process changes meet product specifications and quality standards.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to address process-related issues or deviations from quality targets.
• Utilize statistical methods and data analysis techniques to monitor process performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvement projects, coordinating activities and resources to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure understanding and adherence to new or modified processes.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing manufacturing processes, including safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Provide training and support to production staff and junior engineers.
• Maintain & update all documentation pertaining to process, quality, and system to meet approved regulatory requirement-ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO14001 & ISO13485.
• Ensure Production Process Spec is Accurate & trigger control plan to update if any change.
• Ad-hoc duties by superior or management.

Job Specification:

• Educational Qualifications: Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• Internal Auditor for IATF16949, ISO9001, related Quality management systems
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Stamping
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process improvement methodologies (such as Lean and Six Sigma), and quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
• Strong knowledge of stamping processes, die design, tooling, and material selection.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools for process optimization.
• Proficiency in manufacturing equipment and technology evaluation and implementation.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to product quality and process efficiency.
• Lead a team with professionalism & integrity. Demonstrate maturity, tactfulness, and resourcefulness. Display positive attitude, honesty, impartiality, meticulousness, and openness. Approachable & good mentoring skills.
