Core Duties

  • Support the Buyer in sourcing new products, Supplier communications, prepare POs and follow-up promptly on related administrative or logistical tasks.
  • Conduct market research, identify brands / IPs with commercial potential in the collectible toys, figurines, plush and gifting sector.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports of merchandise performance, analyse data to guide business plans.
  • Monitor stock levels and sales trends to support replenishment and promotional activities.
  • Assist the inventory / logistics team in stock management processes
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Operations to curate product assortment for retail activities

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Merchandise Planning or Marketing -- preferably with some quantitative training in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1 - 2 years relevant experience in an office-based function as a Merchandiser, Merchandising Assistant or Junior Buyer in the retail sector.
  • Able to communicate well in English, both written and verbally. A pleasant and professional disposition when engaging stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel is required. An understanding of shipping related logistics in desirable. Comfortable working with numbers to understand Pricing & Profitability.
  • Willing to travel overseas to trade fairs, source new brands / meet suppliers as part of a team if needed, though such travel is infrequent.
