Therapy Support Associate

Job Description

Therapy Support Associate is responsible for providing support to the therapists before, during and after therapy sessions.

He/ She is responsible for supporting department administration and operations, and expected to provide safe, effective and efficient interventions. He / She will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client-centered therapy service.

The therapy support associates will also be responsible for supervising and managing therapy assistants and senior therapy assistants.

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties

● Carry out prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities as instructed by therapist

● Assist therapists in assessing clients' status for suitability to start therapy sessions or to continue with therapy sessions

● Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures for clients as prescribed by therapists

● Record therapy sessions according to template sets

● Communicate information of therapy sessions to therapists

● Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists

● Manage and conduct therapy sessions independently for straightforward cases after discussion with therapists

● Conduct basic or routine group therapy

● Ensure proper use of equipment including technological-assisted rehabilitation equipment

Administrative and Program Related Duties

● Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas

● Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure volunteer's compliance to procedures

● Assist in setting up and carrying out trial of new equipment/ projects

● Provide and support in the training of therapy assistants/ senior therapy assistants

● Participate in case discussion with the clinical team using a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach

● Participate in continuous professional development

● Perform basic data entry

Job Requirements

● Degree in Occupational Therapy

● Preferably with minimum 2 years relevant experience

● Good team player

● Dynamic and proactive personality with good public relation and communication skills

● Passionate in serving the community
