APAC Regional Head of Finance – Cargo / Logistics – SINGAPORE

Our client is a burgeoning global firm setting up operations in APAC. The APAC HQ will be based in Singapore. The business requires an experienced Regional Finance Director to homogenise Finance operations across a number of acquisitions across Japan, ANZ, Korea and SE Asia. The position will require building a small finance team and integrating current and newly acquired businesses.

The Position:

  • Build and own the entire finance function across APAC business units.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including the monthly accounting close process, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls for all APAC operating businesses.
  • Build, lead and mentor a dynamic regional finance team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage audits (internal and external), tax filings, and other financial activities.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Stay current with accounting trends, regulations, and best practices.

You:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field. Ideally a qualified accountant.
  • Experience working at a public accounting firm, preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
  • Expertise in financial reporting software and systems, particularly NetSuite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and with vision, anticipate possible future consequences and trends and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
  • Most importantly, a strong sense of ownership.
