R&D Director – Consumer Electronics

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary R&D Director with a strong background in consumer electronics and product innovation. This leadership role is responsible for driving research and development strategies, managing end-to-end project execution, and delivering cutting-edge solutions across industries including IoT, consumer electronics, and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, providing strategic direction and technical guidance for all R&D initiatives.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of product development projects, from concept design to production readiness.
• Identify and drive opportunities for new product and technology development, as well as continuous improvement of existing product lines.
• Develop and implement cost-effective design and material strategies to optimize performance and profitability.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to translate market needs into innovative, manufacturable solutions.
• Ensure effective project management practices, including milestone tracking, risk assessment, and timely delivery of key objectives.
• Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence within the R&D organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive R&D experience in the electronics or consumer electronics industry.
• Proven track record in leading product development and delivering successful market-ready solutions.
• Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer applications in IoT and consumer electronics.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with solid business and technical acumen.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Independent, resourceful, and highly driven to achieve results.
• Willingness to travel as required.
