Grace Orchard School ("School") serves students who have been diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disability (MID), some of whom also have Mild Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). An initiative of True Grace Presbyterian Church and Providence Presbyterian Church, the School operates under the umbrella of Presbyterian Community Social Services, providing a nurturing and empowering learning environment for every student.

The Executive / Senior Executive (Partnerships and Communication) will report to the Assistant Manager (Special Projects) under the Vice-Principal (Administration). The job holder will create and drive effective communication and partnership strategies and building strong relationships for the School. We are looking for a resilient and motivated person who is creative with a strong attention to detail. You must be willing to take on new challenges with the ability to work as a part of a team or independently with suitable guidance to make a difference in the special education landscape.

Job Description

You will be responsible for creating and driving effective communication and partnership strategies and building strong relationships for the School.

Responsibilities

You will support the school leaders and management in the following areas:

Communications & Branding

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to advocate for the School's work in alignment to its mission and vision.
  • Create and maintain collaterals such as print material (e.g., brochures, corporate stationary, etc.) and façade design (e.g., large-format banners and wall decals), ensuring consistency in messaging and branding across all materials, channels and touchpoints.
  • Manage and enhance the School's presence on all online platforms, including corporate website, Facebook, Instagram, and others.

Volunteer Management

  • Oversee all aspects of volunteering within the organisation, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing support for volunteers.
  • Strategise and grow pool of volunteers to support the various programmes at Grace Orchard School, identifying potential volunteer sources and attending to volunteer enquiries and requests.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to co-design volunteer roles which are aligned with NCSS's VMF 2.0, whilst also facilitating matching between volunteers and volunteer roles/needs in the School.

Community Engagement and Partnership Management

  • Coordinate and manage the School's incoming mailbox by responding to inquiries, liaising with inquirers to clarify their requests, and directing them to the appropriate key management personnel for timely resolution.
  • Build and engage close working relationships with various corporate stakeholders and sponsors, whilst facilitating matching between partnership enquiries with school committee/programme heads.
  • Liaising, coordinating and working with internal and external stakeholders to organise, promote and ensure the successful execution of activities and events (e.g., Public Info Session, Parent-Teacher Conference, Prize Giving and Graduation Day, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with Presbyterian Community Social Services' (PCS) team for the recruitment and outreach to school alumni, including co-organising alumni events with PCS.

Administrative and other work

  • Support in the preparation of plans, reports and related admin work.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Support the coordination and liaising for assigned projects, including arranging meetings and following up on correspondences.
  • Undertake any other reasonable projects or work assigned by school leaders.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in communications, branding, volunteer management, and/or community engagement.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, editing, layout and design skills.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms, websites, and creating multimedia content using digital tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva).
  • Experience in planning and executing events (both online and in-person), including stakeholder coordination and logistics management.
  • Familiarity with volunteer management frameworks (e.g., NCSS's VMF 2.0) is an advantage.
  • Teamplayer, excellent communicator, comfortable interpersonally and able to execute operationally.
  • Creative and open mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • A willingness to seek out feedback to refine and develop their skills.
  • Passion for inclusion and the disability community.
