**What the role is**
- JTC is working on a technical hardcopy publication that showcases 55+ years of JTC's technical experience in shaping Singapore's industrial landscape, Urban design and Architectural innovations, while tacking the evolving challenges in Singapore's social-economic landscape.
We are looking for interns who have experience in publication projects and a strong interest in the evolution of industrial architecture, urban design and heritage in Singapore.
**What you will be working on**
- The intern will be expected to support the team with the following:
- Assist in archival research on the evolution of Singapore's industrial landscape and architectural innovations through JTC's (and other agencies') repositories.
- Support in cataloguing (using Microsoft Excel) and arrangement of the raw information and data (both physical hardcopy and softcopy files) in accordance to UPAD's content plan.
- Assist to curate design proposal from contracted Graphic Designer.
- Assist in proofreading of content and design produced by the contracted Writer, Graphic Designer, Photographer and Drafter.
- Assist in liaising and managing the contracted Writer, Graphic Designer, Photographer, Drafter and Printer to ensure their work is in line with JTC's requirements.
- Assist to vet monthly report from contracted Creative Director.
- Assist in preparation of presentation materials for management updates.
**What we are looking for**
- The intern should have the following competencies:
- Familiarity with research methodology, archival research and with architectural terms will be an advantage..
- Competency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and AutoCAD will be an advantage.
Through the primary source research within JTC's repositories, the intern will have the opportunity to explore the different typologies of industrial architecture design over the years, particularly for JTC estates and developments. Through the process, intern should be able to understand and weave in JTC's evolution in industrial architecture and urban design with the larger Whole of Govt policies. Intern will also understand how an technical publication is produced, and how the publication industry works from the client's perspective through the liaison with the contracted Publishing House.
