Our client is a reputable organisation in the engineering and construction sector, known for its strong operational excellence and commitment to continuous improvement. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day finance operations and support management in both strategic and operational initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing operational execution with strategic finance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory control, credit management, and general ledger functions.
  • Oversee company payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including CPF, IRAS, GST, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of the finance team to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
  • Manage financial accounts and ensure timely month-end closing, reconciliations, and costing accuracy.
  • Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions to maintain financial stability.
  • Prepare and review job budgets and project cost summaries.
  • Create, enhance, and implement financial policies and processes to support business growth and maintain effective control systems.
  • Handle annual insurance renewals, ensure adequate coverage, and monitor risk management practices.
  • Liaise with external partners including banks, auditors, tax consultants, corporate secretarial agents, and legal advisors.
  • Oversee validity and renewal of statutory business licences and certifications.
  • Manage IT-related matters and serve as the main liaison with outsourced vendors.
  • Support management with ad-hoc assignments and administrative duties to ensure smooth finance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven experience in monthly closing, cash flow management, and payroll operations.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g. MYOB preferred).
  • A proactive and process-driven professional who can collaborate effectively across departments to uphold financial discipline and support organisational objectives.
