Mission of the Role
Turn data, automation, and AI into high-leverage retention plays that lift lifetime value and revenue, not just dashboards. You'll surface the biggest opportunities, prove the upside through rapid tests, and scale the wins across channels.
Success = measurable lift to repeat-purchase rate and CLTV within 12 months
Core Responsibilities
- Retention Strategy and Operations: Own the hypothesis → design → measurement loop for retention experiments; maintain a living backlog and publish verdicts. Define and track win/loss metrics for every experiment; plan test quantity and quality with the team every quarter.
- Reporting & Insights → Action: Design, build, and continuously improve self‑serve dashboards and scheduled deep‑dives that keep the CRM team accountable to KPIs (revenue, CLTV, churn, list health). Translate data into decisive recommendations and prioritisation frameworks. Mine customer, channel, and product data to identify the top drivers of churn and revenue. Package recommendations as "tests ready to run".
- AI & Algorithmic Levers: Scope, integrate, and evaluate AI APIs/models (e.g., predictive CLTV, LLM-generated subject lines). Partner with the CTO to iterate on the logic of recommenders and other internal tools.
- Automation & Tooling: Deploy no-/low-code stacks (Zapier, Make, Apps Script) and light Python to replace manual list pulls, tagging, and QC checks; document and monitor everything.
- CRM stack and Stakeholder Enablement: Co-own the CRM data and tech stack, ensuring that users of the team can effectively implement simple self-serve analytics. Design and maintain a single source of truth tables/views for CRM data; enforce data-quality SLAs. Manage internal reporting infrastructure and training to ensure stakeholders can steer quickly and accurately.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in analytics, growth, or automation roles; proven at turning insights into commercial wins.
- Fluent in SQL (data extraction/joining) and comfortable with Python for lightweight scripts and REST/API calls.
- Hands-on with no-code/low-code automations and BI stacks (DOMO highly preferred) –– building an end-to-end DOMO infra is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives that improve segmentation, personalisation, or comms performance (e.g., integrating personalisation engines)
- Track record of process-improvement/automation that materially reduces manual effort (Lean Six Sigma or similar)
- Skilled at crafting real-time, self-serve dashboards and training teams to use them
- Exceptional problem-solving and storytelling; can explain model limitations and data caveats in plain English.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Maropost, Klaviyo, Braze, or other CRM/ESP APIs.
- Lean Six Sigma certification, agile project-management chops, or regional e-commerce exposure.
