
Facilities Officer

Work alongside building security and maintenance staff to ensure SGS facilities and grounds are clean and safe. Oversee all aspects of building functions and ensures the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Have high multitasking and organizational abilities.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures
- Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol
- Maintain equipment, building provisions as well as security and fire systems to meet health and safety requirements
- Maintain utilities and maintenance schedules
- Organize, plan and coordinate facility refurbishments
- Communicate and liaise with appointed building management agent, landlord, external contractors, vendors and relevant authorities
- Delegate and supervise cleaning and maintenance responsibilities of contractors and vendors
- Run routine maintenance inspections of facility and designated carpark lots
- Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation
- Prepare and implement cost estimates, budgets and timeframes of scheduled or ad hoc facilities projects
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Support maintenance and installation works as needed including scheduled and unscheduled building power shutdowns
- Coordinate and manage all company vehicle related matters
- Respond to all building related emergencies
- Assist in fire evacuation drills.
- Assist in any other facility related activity that may arise from time to time
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facility Management or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in facilities management and is 'hands on' to ensure planning to execution success in facility initiatives undertaken.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC and other building systems with mechanical and plumbing skills
- Valid Class 3 driving license
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience in similar facility operation & maintenance environment
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Contract handling experience
- Ability to engage in occasional heavy lifting and do other labour-intensive tas.s
