Job Summary (General Nature / Objectives of the Job):
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules in the construction sector. This role aims to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specified quality standards. The Planning Engineer collaborates with project managers and stakeholders to establish realistic timelines and resource allocations while identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Project Scheduling:
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
• Establish baseline schedules and monitor progress against these benchmarks.
Resource Management:
• Coordinate with project managers to determine resource requirements and ensure optimal allocation.
• Analyze resource usage and make recommendations for adjustments to meet project goals.
Progress Monitoring:
• Track project progress and report on key milestones, delays, and resource utilization.
• Conduct regular site visits to gather data and assess the progress of construction activities.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and delays in the project timeline, proposing solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Conduct impact analysis for changes in project scope or schedule, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and present progress reports, schedules, and forecasts to project management and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation of schedule changes, delays, and mitigation measures taken.

Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and techniques.
• Competence in resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting practices.
• Understanding of risk assessment and management methodologies.
• Knowledge of construction industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
Formal Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Major Study/Specialist (Education):
• Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
Experience Required:
• 5–8 years of experience in project planning or scheduling within the construction industry, preferably with experience in hotel construction projects.
• Proven experience in managing project schedules for large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with contract management and construction project delivery methods.
