About the Role

We're looking for an Automation Lead to drive the identification, trial and rollout of cutting-edge automation technologies across logistics operations in the Asia Pacific region. This includes mechanical automation (robotics, AGVs, sortation, AS/RS) and process automation (RPA, digital workflows, AI-driven decision support).

You'll act as a catalyst for change — working closely with operations, IT, engineering and external partners to enhance efficiency, scalability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automation strategies and pilot projects across warehousing, transport and support functions.
  • Evaluate, select and implement mechanical automation technologies (robotics, conveyor systems, AS/RS, etc.).
  • Champion process automation using RPA, workflow digitization and AI-driven solutions.
  • Build strong business cases for automation investments (ROI modelling and risk assessment).
  • Lead cross-functional project teams from concept to deployment and ensure seamless integration with IT and operations.
  • Track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends in logistics automation and identify future opportunities.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Address customer/stakeholder feedback and provide clear justification for decisions.
  • Discuss proposed solutions with stakeholders and communicate key highlights.
  • Develop effective solutions under limited information and tight deadlines.

Team Leadership

  • Develop team members through feedback, coaching and learning opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to engineers.
  • Manage projects to deliver innovation and automation successfully.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in logistics, industrial automation or operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field (preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering automation projects in industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of both mechanical systems and digital automation tools.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
