Application Developer (SAP ABAP/Fiori)

Location: Central, Singapore

Type: 1-year contract, Full-time

About the Role

We're hiring an Application Developer to design, build, and configure applications that meet business process and application requirements. You'll serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) in SAP ABAP Development, collaborate across teams, and help drive key technical decisions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable guiding a small team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Build: Develop innovative solutions primarily using SAP ABAP to enhance application functionality and performance.
  • Fiori Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP Fiori for improved user experience, leveraging OData services.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the team's SME; provide direction on design choices, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaboration & Decision-Making: Engage multiple teams and contribute to key technical decisions across domains.
  • Code Quality: Conduct regular code reviews, performance tuning, and debugging; ensure maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on SAP trends and best practices; champion quality, automation, and reusability.
  • Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.

Required Experience

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP Development (expert level).
  • SAP Fiori proficiency recommended (strong advantage).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

Core Technical Skills

  • ABAP: OO-ABAP, ALV, performance tuning, advanced debugging.
  • Interfaces: File-based integrations (Open Dataset, FTP/SFTP), robust error handling and reprocessing.
  • OData & Gateway: CRUDQ operations, SAP Gateway configuration, Fiori integration.
  • Reports & Enhancements: ALV, User Exits, BAdIs, enhancements framework.

HR Domain Advantage (Nice to Have)

  • HR ABAP experience.
  • Knowledge of HR master data, payroll, and time management structures.
  • Understanding of HR authorizations and security concepts.
