Principal Product Manager

The Role

We're hiring a Principal Product Manager - Compliance (KYC/AML) to own the systems that enable KAST to onboard users globally with speed and trust. You will be responsible for our entire identity verification and anti-money laundering infrastructure, ensuring we meet the highest global regulatory standards and the requirements of our financial partners.

Your mission: build a world-class compliance engine that balances a seamless user experience with robust, scalable controls. You will orchestrate a multi-vendor strategy, define our AML monitoring rules, and drive innovation to make KAST the gold standard for compliance in stablecoin banking.

This is a role for a leader who can navigate complex regulations, build strong partnerships, and ship mission-critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end KYC/CDD product, from onboarding and identity verification to ongoing due diligence, sanctions screening, and risk scoring.
• Integrate and orchestrate multiple KYC/AML vendors (e.g., SumSub, Onfido, Jumio, Chainalysis, ComplyAdvantage) to optimize for pass rates, cost, and compliance coverage across geographies.
• Define and iterate AML and transaction-monitoring frameworks, including real-time alerts, dynamic thresholds, and rule-based or ML-driven detection.
• Partner closely with Compliance, Legal, and Engineering to translate regulatory requirements into scalable systems and automated workflows.
• Own KAST's internal compliance tools, improving the efficiency and accuracy of risk operations and case management.
• Innovate on next-generation compliance methods, leveraging AI, alternative data, and dynamic workflows to enhance onboarding speed and detection capabilities.
• Anticipate and adapt to evolving global regulatory environments, ensuring KAST's infrastructure scales securely as we enter new markets.

Ideal Candidate

You move fast, think clearly, and execute precisely. You have built compliance or KYC/AML systems in high-stakes fintech or crypto environments, where speed and scrutiny collide, and you know how to win in both. You communicate crisply across Legal, Compliance, and Engineering, turning complexity into clarity and execution.

You thrive in environments where ambiguity is the norm and velocity is non-negotiable. You're entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and not afraid to ship first and iterate. You understand that great compliance isn't about slowing things down but about enabling trust at scale.

You likely have:

• 10+ years in Product Management, with 3+ years in compliance, identity, or KYC/AML platforms in FinTech, Banks, or in Crypto.
• A proven record of building regulatory-grade compliance systems that scale globally while maintaining great user experience and operational efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with multiple compliance vendors and data providers (SumSub, Onfido, Jumio, Chainalysis, ComplyAdvantage, Elliptic, etc.).
• Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks (KYC, AML, FATF, GDPR) and experience collaborating directly with compliance officers and regulators.
• Strong product sense and communication skills, and the ability to translate legal and technical nuance into simple, actionable product decisions.
• An entrepreneurial mindset: ruthless prioritization, a bias to ship, and the ability to innovate within a regulated environment.
• Comfort operating asynchronously across global engineering and ops teams, managing priorities with precision and autonomy.
• A high-hustle mindset and strong sense of ownership - you push hard, stay calm under fire, and have the grit to survive the chaos of scaling.
