Join Principal Asset Management for a remarkable opportunity to excel in a dynamic market and propel our success in South and Southeast Asia As Institution Sales Director, you'll play a crucial role in our outstanding expansion across the region. You'll develop and broaden our institutional client base and make a lasting impact on the financial landscape.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain a detailed knowledge of the key business and strategic issues facing such institutions in Asia. This involves:

(a) Building relationships with Heads of Reserves Management, Chief Investment Officers, Treasurers, Finance Directors and major influential asset allocators in existing and potential clients.

(b) Creating a self-sustaining pipeline of business with limited resources.

(c) The ongoing servicing of new and existing clients.

  • Pursue institutional sub-advisory mandates and/or fund investments in South-East Asia. Primary targets include insurance companies, asset managers and other large, sophisticated investors. Primary areas of coverage include Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.
  • Build strong relationships at all levels including key stakeholders within Principal, such as investment professionals, sales professionals and client servicing team.
  • Master our investment strategies and philosophy and use your sales expertise to articulate our competitive differentiators in the marketplace.
  • Identify and guide the products team to build and deliver the correct portfolio mix for existing and potential clients.
Qualifications

Who You Are

  • Possess a strong educational background with 10+ years of demonstrated experience in institutional sales and business development. A CFA or MBS is preferred.
  • Possess expertise in the institutional markets of Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
  • Effective communication abilities which allow you to collaborate closely with senior leaders within Principal and our clients.
  • Excellent relationship skills and a proven record of successful business relationships with Central Banks and similar supranational or Government institutions.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and ethical standards, offering timely, polite, and outstanding service at a reasonable cost to all customers.
  • Strong product knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Innovative and able to bring forward new ideas and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Asian languages will be an advantage.
