  • A Site Engineer is responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards by overseeing technical aspects, supervising work, coordinating materials and resources, and maintaining project documentation and safety compliance. Key duties include interpreting drawings, preparing schedules, conducting inspections, managing health and safety, solving technical problems, and communicating with clients and the project team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight:Manage daily construction activities, ensuring work aligns with design specifications and project plans.
  • Technical Supervision:Provide technical advice, authorize engineering plans and drawings, and supervise construction and equipment installation.
  • Quality Assurance:Conduct inspections, monitor work quality, ensure materials meet standards, and identify opportunities for improvement or value engineering.
  • Health and Safety:Promote safe working cultures, comply with safety regulations, and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Resource Management:Organize and coordinate the procurement of materials, tools, and manpower needed to complete project tasks.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Record Keeping:Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, including daily site diaries, drawing registers, inspection requests, and documentation of materials used and progress.
  • Reporting:Submit daily site reports and provide detailed updates to management and other stakeholders on project activities and status.

Coordination and Communication

  • Team Collaboration:Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Liaison with Clients:Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and their technical representatives to address concerns and provide necessary information.

Problem-Solving

  • Troubleshooting:Diagnose and troubleshoot technical difficulties, equipment issues, and other unexpected problems that arise on site.
  • Issue Resolution:Address and resolve site issues, ensuring the project stays on track and meets all requirements.
