Job Title: Head of Sales (Gaming Industry)

Company Description: Our client is a privately-owned game development and publishing studio, founded in 2017 by a seasoned industry veteran. To date, over USD 652k has been privately invested into the company's game development efforts. The studio is preparing to launch its debut PC game in South Korea by August 2025, with several additional titles already in the pipeline, targeting regional markets over the coming years.

They are looking to set up their Singapore physical office around Q3 2026, meantime, all staff will be working remotely.

Role Description: This Head of Sales is a remote position (tentatively) offering a competitive base salary alongside a generous success-based commission structure.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading strategic planning, commercial deal-making, and growth initiatives for the company's IP properties. This includes identifying and executing route-to-market partnerships, IP licensing opportunities, new market expansion, and co-branding or brand development deals.

You will report directly to the CEO, and this role has been created to transition key commercial responsibilities from the CEO to a dedicated leader who can elevate and expand our commercial footprint.

Requirements:

  • Equipped with around 20 years of experience in commercial deal-making or licensing within video games, TV, film, or related industries. You should have a strong network of contacts in these sectors. The main focus is on North America and Asia, with some interest in South America and Africa. Europe is not a priority.

  • This role is ideal for someone who has had a successful career in business development or operations and is now nearing retirement, has recently retired or looking for a last job before retirement to make a successful career exit with decent returns based on performance, which is unlikely to achieve with conventional roles. It offers a rare chance to earn significantly from one final role, turning your experience into a valuable financial reward.

  • This is a critical and high-level position, currently performed by the CEO. The person who takes on this role must be able to deliver at or above the CEO's level, with full responsibility for the company's future revenue generation. We're looking for someone strategic, detail-oriented, and highly experienced in the business of entertainment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in strategic commercial planning, deal-making, and commercial management.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with advanced negotiation skills

  • A calm, focused, and professional demeanor, with a well-respected industry track record and a broad global network of contacts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an MBA is highly advantageous.

  • A genuine passion for gaming, entertainment, and the development of new intellectual properties (IP) is strongly preferred.
