1. Master fundamentals of vessel operations and resource planning

  • Berthing planning: Scheduling when and where a ship docks.
  • Loading/unloading planning: Coordinating how containers or cargo are loaded onto or off the vessel (also involves container stowage planning).
  • Turnaround optimization: Reducing the time a vessel spends at port.
  • Resource allocation: Planning and assigning equipment (cranes, vehicles) and manpower needed during vessel operations.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all procedures adhere to maritime safety and regulatory standards.

2. Supervise quayside activities

  • Monitoring crane operations and ensuring safety.
  • Ensuring smooth container transfer between ship and terminal.
  • Coordinating with vessel planners, crane operators, truck drivers, and stevedores.
  • Handling emergency or irregular situations, e.g., cargo damage or equipment failure.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.

3. Coordinate and manage container yard activities using the latest Terminal Operations System (TOS)

  • Yard planning: Assigning container storage locations efficiently to optimize space and minimize handling time.
  • Monitoring container movements in real-time (inbound, outbound, transshipment).
  • Using TOS platforms (like NAVIS N4, CATOS, SPARCS) to update, track, and plan yard activities.
  • Working with gate operations (in/outbound trucks) and RTG (rubber tyred gantry) or other equipment operators.

Focus Areas:

  • Master fundamentals of vessel operations and resource planning.
  • Supervise quayside activities.
  • Coordinate and manage container yard activities using the latest Terminal Operations System.

Skill Development:

  • Leadership and communication.
  • Team management of equipment specialists.
  • Ensure execution of plans to meet critical service levels in a dynamic environment.

Requirements/Shifts

  • Min. Diploma holders
  • You must be willing to perform shift duties.
  • 12 hours shift. 7.30am to 7.30pm. 7.30pm to 7.30am.
  • Multiple locations assigned based on availability - location: Near to Vivo city/Pasir Panjang/Tuas
  • Transport provided across whole of SG at various MRT (to & Fro with min. charge)
