Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Sales roles.
  • 10 years of experience promoting and selling cloud computing technologies to Digital Native customers, Unicorns, and startups in the Southeast Asia Region.
  • Experience managing engagements with clients (e.g., consulting, project management, sales, implementation, or technical sales).
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern technology stacks that support business scaling, including experience with cloud, data, and AI technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA.
  • Experience in executive roles within the Venture Capital/Private Equity ecosystem, at a Digital Native company, or serving/selling to the Startup community.
  • Experience building teams, processes, and sales motions from the ground up in hyper-growth environments.
  • Understanding of the global cloud computing market and key drivers for growth in the Digital Native and Startup segment (e.g., funding stages, user acquisition, and unit economics).


About the job

As Director, you will be responsible for progressing Google Cloud's strategy for adoption and growth in the Digital Natives and Startup ecosystem (i.e., Unicorns, early-stage startups, and high-growth tech companies). You will focus on client engagement and field enablement work in Southeast Asia, while supporting global industry initiatives. You will support sales teams in winning and growing Digital Native customers, will collaborate with and guide product and engineering organizations on product strategy and roadmaps, will foster and develop the startup partner ecosystem (e.g., VCs, Incubators, and Accelerators), and will coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute against challenging growth goals.

Additionally, you will work with global and regional enablement teams to help develop and grow the Google Cloud Digital Natives and Startup community and field personnel to build deeper industry knowledge and capabilities across the company.

In this role, you will utilize a deep understanding of the Digital Native landscape, with knowledge spanning most segments/sub–segments as well as the ecosystem of investors and technology firms that serve the industry. You will also have a perspective on the ongoing evolution and transformation in the startup economy, and how cloud, data and AI can serve digital native companies in achieving their business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Field Sales Executives and Sales Managers to meet quarterly and annual bookings goals for the region by targeting high-growth digital native companies, including Unicorns and late-stage startups, with a constant focus on scaling and consumption growth.
  • Participate in C-level, Founder, and Investor engagements in support of Sales teams' account strategies. Understand customer demand and work with our product, solutions, and partners teams to develop the industry portfolio.
  • Partner with the cross-functional Digital Natives and Startup Team. Utilize global thought leadership demonstrated in startup ecosystems, tech conferences, and VC communities.
  • Build and foster relationships with Google leaders across the Cloud and broader Google organization (e.g., Google Ads, Google Play, and GV) to leverage the "One Google" value proposition.
