About Us:

TEMPONG BUDI is a new and exciting F&B concept located in the heart of Orchard Road at Lucky Plaza. We are passionate about bringing the authentic, fiery, and soulful flavors of Indonesian cuisine to Singapore, with a special focus on our signature dish, Tempong Ayam. We are building a small, dedicated team focused on creating a warm, vibrant, and welcoming dining experience for our guests.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef with a deep specialization in Indonesian cuisine to be the heart of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will spearhead our culinary operations, ensuring every dish we serve is a true reflection of our brand's commitment to authenticity, quality, and tradition. You will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen, from cooking and preparation to management and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a menu of authentic Indonesian dishes, with a core focus on Tempong cuisine.
  • Manage all kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering of supplies, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Uphold the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (SFA).
  • Lead, train, and supervise a small team of junior kitchen staff.
  • Collaborate on menu planning, development, and creation of seasonal specials.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven professional experience as a Chef with a deep and demonstrable specialization in authentic Indonesian cuisine.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly preferred in order to communicate effectively with our Indonesian suppliers and partners.
  • In-depth, expert-level knowledge of Indonesian ingredients, sambal-making, traditional cooking techniques, and regional culinary nuances. Direct experience with Javanese or specifically Tempong preparations is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced F&B environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to guide a small kitchen team.
  • Must possess relevant Food Safety & Hygiene certifications.
