About the role
The Food Section - Assistant Store Manager is responsible for driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring operational excellence within the assigned food section. This role requires strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and the ability to optimize space, merchandise, and team performance to achieve business objectives while upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales performance by identifying opportunities, executing promotions, and maximizing commercial returns
- Deliver outstanding customer experience through effective merchandising, product knowledge, and well-resourced service points
- Optimize space utilization and maintain exceptional store presentation in line with brand standards
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to highlight key promotions and ensure impactful product launches
- Manage stock effectively through business insights, replenishment planning, competitor benchmarking, and stock accuracy controls
- Enhance profitability by minimizing costs, losses, and shrinkage while planning for seasonal and promotional activities
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team, conducting performance reviews and supporting talent development
Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of experience in retail management, preferably within the food or FMCG sector
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze data and make effective business decisions
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of developing and motivating teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering service excellence
