Position Title: Operations Manager – Liftboat

Reporting To: Operations Director

Location:  Singapore / Middle East / West Africa

Department: Operations


Role Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of liftboat operations. He will ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, class and flag requirements, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and operational excellence. The role requires close coordination with the Technical, QHSE, and Crewing departments to deliver projects within budget and operational timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Safe Operations & Compliance

  2. Ensure all offshore operations, including rig moves, are conducted safely in accordance with company policies, SMS, and industry best practices.

  3. Maintain oversight of vessel certifications in liaison with the Technical Department, ensuring no certification lapses.

  4. Client Interface & Satisfaction

  5. Act as primary operational contact for client representatives onboard.

  6. Ensure client satisfaction through continuous engagement and follow-up, including execution of Annual Client Evaluation (SMS

  7. Budgeting & Cost Control

  8. Prepare annual OPEX forecast 3 months prior to year-end.

  9. Operate the liftboats within approved OPEX budgets.
  10. Provide monthly reporting of Actual vs. Budget performance.

  11. Management Reviews & Inspections

  12. Conduct annual vessel management visits for all assigned vessels.

  13. Lead the annual SMS management review in compliance with company standards.

  14. Crew Management

  15. Oversee and appraise all crew onboard vessels under care (per hitch rotation).

  16. Support Crewing Department in ensuring optimal manning levels, competence, and crew welfare.

  17. Team Leadership

  18. Lead, supervise, and develop the onshore operations team to ensure full support for vessel operations.

  19. Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marine/Offshore Engineering, Nautical Science, or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore marine operations, preferably with liftboats or jack-up barges.
  3. Proven track record in vessel operations management, budget planning, and client interfacing.
  4. Strong knowledge of ISM Code, SMS, Class & Flag regulations.
