**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and assist day-to-day activities to meet all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards established by applicable law or regulation
- Intern will be spending time performing and learning the work Health, Safety, and Environmental that EHS Managers do.
- Assist EHS manager to prepare documents to maintain Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) management systems (ISO 9001,ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
- Assist EHS manager to conduct internal and external audit for QEHS management systems
- Assist operations team to improve safety culture and EHS performance through implementation of EHS programs
- Assist operation team to achieve injury-free work environment
- Ensure that safety observations are being conducted on each site/project and ensure follow up on findings.
- Work with EHS team and follow up corrective actions if there is any incident at the workplace
- Carry out regular site inspections on the work areas with the respective HSE representative and prepare reports.
- Work with EHS team & operation team to conduct regular safety meetings.
- Assist to conduct weekly toolbox meeting for operations team
- To oversee and lead the subcontractors in the implementation of Evoqua’s safety requirements including Permit to Work system
- To assist EHS manager to liaise with site operations staff and Project / Site Managers / Government Regulatory Authorities related to EHS activities
- To ensure all HSE related safety equipment and PPE are in order and properly maintained.
- To carry out any HSE related functions / duties and processes as directed by superior.
- Assist to perform sustainability activities by using processes that are non-polluting, conserving of energy and natural resources, economically efficient and safe for workers, communities and consumers.
- Coordinate Implementation of Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans
- Continuous participation in trainings related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) topics
- Handle special assignments or projects related to QEHS matters
- Participate in the sites Safety Steering Committee
**Qualifications**:
- Preferred students with HSE related degree (if available) or Environmental or Chemical engineering
- Ability to learn Quality and EHS management system including behavior-based safety management system
- Ability to analyze the root causes of incident during incident investigation process
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) tools
- Ability to work within a multi-national operation team
- Positive attitude with a drive to build relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
